THE Gongfarmers’ Almanac for 2026 is CLOSED for submissions!!
Gongfarmers! Submissions are now CLOSED for 2026! Thank you, the amazing authors, artists, editors, proofers that signed up to create the annual community gift that is The Gongfarmer’s Almanac (GFA). The core principles: Open to everyone, Content we all love, Always free.
We now are in the Writing and Art phase!
Your new Lead Admin staff: Charles Royston (Judge Cro) and Craig Langrall are coordinating a team of admins to organize all of the submissions into categories and assign and artists. If you completed the form, you will be hearing more from us soon. All authors should be focused on getting their entries to final drafts. These are due by April 30 but should be far enough along that an illustration list is clear. Admins will be assigning artists who will work with the authors to create illustrations for their entries. We are, as always, asking Doug Kovacs to create a new version of the awesome cover.

Internal communication will occur via email. Updates to the community will be posted in the following places by our social media manager:

Final Thoughts
We appreciate all of your effort and it goes without saying that everyone retains ownership of their work. This zine is not sold for profit; we’re all volunteering our time and talents. If you’d rather get paid for your work, that is totally cool, but this is not the right venue.
